Secrets of Poker
The World Series of Poker Circuits
Want to join the prestigious World Series of Poker? Playing in the world's richest poker tournament may seem an impossible dream for the ordinary poker player, unless he can afford to pay the $10,000 entry fee.
Good news to all poker fans! Poker players like you now have the opportunity to play in the next World Series of Poker, and this doesn't mean saving up thousands of dollars. Just by playing in the WSOP Circuit, poker players all over the United States and around the world can earn a ticket to the final event at Las Vegas and get a chance at the millions of dollars in cash prizes.
Now on its third year, the WSOP Circuit features the excitement and popularity of the WSOP plus the affordably low buy-in fees. Entry fees range from as low as $300 to more than $5,000 for the main events.
The WSOP Circuit is attractive to ordinary poker players not only for its minimal buy-in fees but also for the realistic chances of winning. Although the main events attract a few professional players, most winners are ordinary, regular poker players.
The reason why most poker pros don't bother to play in the Circuits is that there's more money to be made in Las Vegas casinos than in this tournament. However, the Las Vegas stop features some of the world's best poker players.
The latest WSOP Circuit features 11 events in cities in Iowa and Mississippi as well as New Orleans and Atlantic City. The tournament opens one month after the WSOP and runs well into June. The first WSOP Circuit tournament was held in Harrah's Lake Tahoe and featured eight events.
The WSOP Circuit is also popular among the general poker-playing population due to the sufficient time of play and the large amounts of chips offered to players at the start of the tournament. Since the tournament structure is the same as the WSOP, poker players can play in the Circuit in preparation for the million-dollar final table at Las Vegas.
The biggest attraction of the WSOP Circuit is, of course, money. At a very reasonable buy-in fee of about $500, you can win up to $40,000 in prizes. This is a bargain compared to the $10,000 buy-in fee at the final WSOP event and get a next to zero chance of winning the $12 million grand prize.
The benefits don't stop there. Once you win a main event at the WSOP Circuit, you are automatically entitled to a sure seat at the main event of next year's World Series of Poker, saving you the $10,000 entry fee. As a symbol of achievement, the winners of all events receive a diamond-studded gold ring.
The WSOP Circuit, as well as the satellite tournaments, is a great way to earn a ticket to the world's richest poker tournament and win lots of money. Just stay tuned for the latest developments of the WSOP Circuit and join an event near your locality.
